Is The Circus coming to an end? Variety reports the future of the Showtime TV show is up in the air after co-host Mark Halperin was accused of sexual harassment.
Hosted by Halperin, John Heilemann, and campaign strategist Mark McKinnon, the political docuseries covered the 2016 presidential election and the first year of President Trump’s administration.
After several women have come forward accusing Halperin of sexual harassment, Showtime has announced they will “evaluate all options” regarding the future of The Circus. As for now, Halperin has been suspended from his job at NBC News.
Here’s Showtime’s full statement:
During Mark’s time working with us, we have not seen nor have there been allegations of any untoward behavior. We are aware of these reports and will continue to evaluate all options should we decide to move forward with another season of ‘The Circus.’ There is no tolerance for sexual harassment within Showtime and its productions.”
