Class: Details of Doctor Who Spin-Off Teased

Class TV show on BBC America: season one (cancelled or renewed?); Class TV show on BBC Three: season one (canceled or renewed?)

Class is in session. A new article from Radio Times teases several details from the BBC’s new Doctor Who spin-off series, Class.

The drama comes from author Patrick Ness and will reportedly tie in closely with Doctor Who.

Set in Shoreditch, Class will follow the students and staff of Coal Hill, the famous Doctor Who school where companion Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) has taught. Though little else has been revealed, a source close to the series told Radio Times current Doctor Peter Capaldi is expected to appear in the spin-off.

The BBC has ordered eight episodes of the sci-fi drama. Filming is expected to begin in April, with a premiere date set for sometime later in 2016. Current Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat will executive produce.

From Patrick Ness:

I can’t wait for people to meet the heroes of Class, to meet the all-new villains and aliens, to remember that the horrors of the darkest corners of existence are just about on par with having to pass your A-Levels.”

What do you think? Are you a Doctor Who fan? Will you watch Class?
