What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the TNT cable channel, Claws stars Niecy Nash, Carrie Preston, Harold Perrineau, Jenn Lyon, Judy Reyes, Karrueche Tran, Jason Antoon, Kevin Rankin, Jack Kesy, and Dean Norris. The dark dramedy follows the diverse and dangerous staff of the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon, which launders money for the Dixie Mafia. The story centers on owner Desna Simms and her crew. She dreams of out getting out from under the mob’s thumb, and starting afresh in a beautiful new shop, but the universe may have other plans.

Telly’s Take
Although it officially premiered on June 11th, TNT ran a late-night surprise sneak peek of the Claws premiere episode after the May 25th NBC playoff game, to capitalize on its large audience. The ratings have remained pretty consistent so I think that TNT will renew Claws for a second season. I’ll keep hungry eye on the Nielsens and will update this page as needed.
