The Comeback: Season Three of HBO Series “Always a Possibility”

The Comeback TV show on HBO: (canceled or renewed?)

Is The Comeback ever coming back? Recently, star Lisa Kudrow and co-creator Michael Patrick King discussed the future of the HBO TV show, EW reports.

The comedy stars Kudrow as Valerie Cherish, a former sitcom star who becomes the subject of a reality show. The cast also includes Damian Young, Robert Michael Morris, Laura Silverman, Malin Akerman, Lance Barber, and Robert Bagnell.

Season two of The Comeback finished in 2014. Shortly after, both Kudrow and King said HBO had picked up the show for a third season. However, there’s never been an official renewal announcement from the network since. Nevertheless, Kudrow told fans at the ATX Television Festival that a new season is “always a possibility”:

There’s always a possibility. If [season 2] was a possibility, if this happened, yeah.”

King then added that season three could see Valerie on one of those “small shows that you’ve never heard of” or being caught in a “perfect humiliation trap” of “aggressive sales.”

With both King and Kudrow keen on more episodes, it seems like a third season of The Comeback might just be a matter of time. But fans of the show already know what that’s like. After all, season two didn’t premiere until nearly 10 years after season one ended.

What do you think? Are you a fan of The Comeback? Do you want another season?
