“I’d like to thank Comedy Central for this incredible opportunity,” said Jefferies. “It’s always been a dream of mine to do a show in this arena and I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve got planned.”

“Jim has a huge comedic voice on the global stage,” said Alterman. “During development, we also learned his talent is only surpassed by his incredible work ethic.”

Australian comic, Jim Jefferies moves behind the desk to take on culture and politics in his new (untitled) Comedy Central weekly, late night series. Fresh off a series of blockbuster comedy specials, Jefferies travels around the globe to tackle the week’s top stories and most controversial issues. Plus, he’ll talk about Donald Trump because, unfortunately, there’s no way he can avoid it. Monika Zielinska and Adam Londy are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central.

A comedian, actor and writer, Jim Jefferies has established himself as one of the most respected comics of his generation with a controversial and belief-challenging stand-up style that continues to surprise and entertain audiences around the globe. He recently wrapped an international stand-up tour, “The Unusual Punishment Tour,” to rave reviews which came on the heels of releasing his second Netflix special Freedumb last summer. Jefferies burst onto the U.S. comedy scene in 2009 with his popular HBO special I Swear to God, the first of seven specials, including his debut Netflix special, Jim Jefferies: BARE, which garnered attention for an iconic set focused on guns and gun control in the United States.

He has appeared on Comedy Central’s @midnight with Chris Hardwick and The Comedy Jam special that aired last August. Jefferies has also found critical success as an actor where he played the role of “Charlie” in the feature film And Punching the Clown, that premiered at the 2016 SXSW Film Festival and he created, wrote, produced and starred in the critically-acclaimed series Legit, which ran for two season on FX.
