Community: ABC Thinks the Sitcom Will Be Cancelled

Not long after the ratings for NBC’s Community fell to a new series low, it was reported that Ken Jeong had been cast in a new ABC comedy pilot, Spy.

Spy is based on a UK TV series of the same name and revolves around a well intentioned father (Rob Corddry) of a highly intelligent and verbal son (Mason Cook). They’re the complete opposite and the dad inadvertently takes a job at the Secret Service in order to prove himself a worthy father.

Jeong will play a mischievous character, Examiner. The role is played by Robert Lindsay in the original which is currently available on Hulu.

While Jeong’s role in Spy is in second position and contingent on Community’s cancellation, ABC is clearly betting the NBC comedy won’t be back next season.
