Constantine: Cancelled TV Show Being Shopped to CW?

Constantine TV show on NBC: canceled; season on CW?Now that NBC has officially passed on ordering a second season of Constantine, the TV show can be shopped to other outlets. Based on the tweets of showrunner Daniel Cerone, it sounds like The CW may be a potential buyer.

After William Shatner suggested that Constantine would be a good fit on The CW, Cerone retweeted the message and added “I believe the Capt is onto something. #SaveConstantine #Hellblazers”

Cerone noted that “We were in play at NBC until today. Studio actively selling show now. Actors under contract thru June. … We intend to make something happen. Don’t blink. #Constantine #Hellblazers @CW_network @Mark_Sheppard”

He continued, “For those asking what they can do to help, make noise and BUILD FANS. All eps of #Constantine STILL streaming. Bear in mind, #Constantine ratings low for NBC but would constitute a hit at many networks. Fearless faith. #SaveConstantine #Hellblazers”

It would seem that The CW could be an ideal home for the series. Constantine is a Warner Bros TV show and the studio co-owns the CW network. Next season, they’ll already have three other shows based on DC Comics characters and also have a few dark supernatural programs. Could they have too much programming? We’ll have to wait and see.

What do you think? Would you watch a second season of Constantine on The CW?
