Diane Guerrero is headed to CBS. Deadline reports the Orange is the New Black star has joined the network’s new pilot In the Country We Love.
Based on Guerrero’s memoir, the drama “centers on a successful corporate attorney who starts taking pro bono cases for undocumented immigrants after her past as the child of deported parents is revealed by a family emergency.”
Guerrero will play the lead role in the upcoming drama and executive produce alongside Jane the Virgin showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman, Ben Silverman, and Paul Sciarrotta.
