Emily Prentiss is back. This week, CBS announced Paget Brewster will return for season 12 of Criminal Minds.
Brewster first appeared as Prentiss, an FBI special agent, in season two of the crime drama. She left as a series regular in season seven but has appeared as a guest star since.
For season 12, Brewster will help the BAU in a multi-episode arc. The new season begins on September 28th.

OS ANGELES- July 21, 2016 – Paget Brewster will guest star in multiple episodes of CRIMINAL MINDS during the series’ upcoming 12th season. Brewster will reprise her role as SSA Emily Prentiss, joining the BAU when they need her most, with the escape of 13 serial killers.
“We’re excited to have Paget Brewster back for multiple episodes in our 12th season,” said Erica Messer, Executive Producer/Showrunner. “The BAU can use more help this year since they’ve got a lot of known and unknown subjects to catch.”
CRIMINAL MINDS returns for its 12th season on Wednesday, Sept. 28 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
