Cruel Intentions has a revival coming to NBC, and there is word that Sarah Michelle Gellar has been approached to reprise her role for the new series.
Deadline reported that Gellar has been sent the script for the pilot of the series, but there is no word yet on whether or not she will reprise the role of Kathryn Merteuil.
The character does play a role in the new series. Deadline revealed that the series will the beautiful and cunning Kathryn Merteuil — the character played in the film by Gellar — as she vies for control of Valmont International as well as the soul of Bash Casey, the son of her step-brother.”
Gellar has spoken about the revival of Cruel Intentions in a recent interview with Refinery 29, and she revealed that she would watch the new series when it aired. She said:
“I would watch anything Roger [Kumble] does. I think Roger is amazing.”
