Dancing with the Stars: Season 19 Ratings

ABC is trying to shake things up on Dancing with the Stars by adding a permanent fourth judge. Will this move help the sagging ratings or will they continue to fall? Could this series possibly be cancelled — or perhaps cut down to air just one cycle per year? Stay tuned!

Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews return as hosts of the dancing competition. Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli are joined at the judges table by champion Julianne Hough. Ray Chew is back as bandleader.

Season 19’s contestants are Jonathan Bennett, Tommy Chong, Randy Couture, Betsey Johnson, Lolo Jones, Bethany Mota, Janel Parrish, Alfonso Ribeiro, Sadie Robertson, Antonio Sabàto Jr., Tavis Smiley, Lea Thompson, and Michael Waltrip.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. Last year comparison: The 17th cycle of Dancing with the Stars (Fall 2013) averaged a 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 13.73 million total viewers.
