Deadwood: HBO Reunion Movie Gets Huge California Tax Break

It looks like HBO’s Deadwood movie might happen after all. Deadline reports the project has been awarded a huge tax credit to film in California.

As reported earlier, creator David Milch has already finished the script for the Western drama’s follow-up film. The HBO series, which ended in 2006 after three seasons, starred Timothy Olyphant, Ian McShane, Molly Parker, Jim Beaver, W. Earl Brown, Kim Dickens, Brad Dourif, and John Hawkes.

Recently, the California Film Commission announced they’ve awarded the Deadwood reunion movie a $4.195 million tax credit to film in the Golden State. It’s unclear when the project will begin production, but HBO president Casey Bloys has stated that filming is likely to begin this fall.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Deadwood? Will you watch the reunion movie?
