Good news for Deadwood fans. Star Ian McShane says HBO has the script for the series’ upcoming revival movie, TVLine reports.
For years now, news of a Deadwood revival has circulated but progress has been slow. Last year, HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said creator David Milch was working on a script for a TV movie follow-up and McShane expressed interest in filming soon. The original series ran for three seasons before ending in 2006. The cast also included Timothy Olyphant, Molly Parker, Jim Beaver, and John Hawkes.
Now, McShane says there is a script for a two-hour Deadwood movie and HBO has it:
[A] two-hour movie script has been delivered to HBO. If they don’t deliver [a finished product], blame them. … We’d all love to do it… It would be nice to see all of the old gang again.”
