Deadwood ended its run on HBO a decade ago after three seasons. There has been rumors about a film, and possibly even two, being released to wrap up the series. Those rumors have been spinning around Hollywood since the series ended.

There has been new talk about a Deadwood movie at the Winter TCA’s this week, and there has been good news. As TV Series Finale recently reported, the Deadwood movie is still in the works. Michael Lombardo from HBO said the movies will happen.

However, there are some challenges that the production would face. Most of those challenges involve time and availability. Both the cast and the players behind the scenes need to have the time to commit to a film project.

Another challenge is the set. The Deadwood set is long gone. A new set would need to be built if the film actually went forward.

According to HitFix, W. Earl Brown, one of the stars of the series, also spoke about the challenges the Deadwood film would face on his Twitter. He spoke candidly with a fan of the series. His tweets are below.

Would you want to see the Deadwood film go forward? Were you a fan of the HBO series?
