Last week, we posted the new trailer for Netflix’s upcoming series Degrassi: Next Class, the latest installment in the Degrassi TV franchise. Now, TVLine has posted the series’ new opening credit sequence.
Degrassi: Next Class premieres on Netflix on January 15th.
The new intro sequence not only previews the new cast, but it also updates the series’ long-running theme song with a more upbeat, contemporary pop vibe.
It looks like the series is making an update overall. The new show will “tell stories for the new post-millennial teen cohort known as Generation Z, most of whom weren’t even born when Degrassi returned in 2001,” according to a press statement.
All 20 episodes of Degrassi: Next Class will premiere on the Family Channel in Canada and on Netflix for international viewers.
