Deadline reports that CBS has given a script commitment with penalty to The Office writer-producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky. Dick Ernest is a multi-cam ABC Studios period comedy.
From Deadline:
Written/executive produced by Eisenberg and Stupnitsky, Dick Ernest is set in 1957. Dick Ernest, the patriarch of the Ernest family, has his mainstream values challenged when his beatnik nephew moves in and starts putting “modern” ideas into the heads of the rest of the family.
Who would you cast in the title role, as the mainstream dad? How about the beatnik nephew? If you were a fan of The Office, do Eisenberg and Stupnitsky make you want to check out this new show? Please let us know.
