Dietland has some new company. Deadline reports Joy Nash has joined the upcoming AMC TV show.
Based on the novel by Sarai Walker, the drama “will explore society’s obsession with weight loss and beauty in a bold, original and funny way.” Mad Men and Buffy the Vampire Slayer producer Marti Noxon will write and serve as showrunner on the series.
On Dietland, Nash will play “Plum Kettle, who has been obese all her life and preparing for lap band surgery when her world is upturned by two rival feminist factions.” AMC has ordered 10 episodes of Dietland. No premier date has been announced yet.
