It looks like Doc Martin is finally retiring. RadioTimes reports the ITV series will end with season nine in 2018.
Created by Dominic Minghella, the long-running UK medical dramedy stars Martin Clunes as the only doctor in a small Cornish village. The cast also includes Caroline Catz, Ian McNeice, Joe Absolom, John Marquez, and Selina Cadell.
Clunes spoke to RadioTimes, confirming that season nine will be the last for Doc Martin. Season eight is slated to debut later this year, and the final season is expected to premiere in autumn 2018.
From Clunes:
We start making [series 8] in spring and it’ll probably be on air in the autumn. So [series 8] is the second to last.”
