Doctor Who: New Companion to be Unveiled During FA Cup Semi-Final

Doctor Who season 8

Who’s joining the Doctor for another adventure? BBC News reports the new Doctor Who companion will be revealed at this Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final.

Previous companion, Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman), left the sci-fi series after season nine in 2015. Coleman joined the show in 2012.

The new companion will be featured in season 10 of Doctor Who, which will be showrunner Steven Moffat’s last. Earlier this year, he announced he would be leaving after the next season and Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall will be his replacement.

As for the Doctor, Peter Capaldi, he’s said he’s still unsure whether season 10 will be his last or not. Apparently, BBC has asked the actor to stay on the series.

You can see the new companion live during BBC One’s coverage of the FA Cup semi-final match this Saturday, April 23rd, at 18:00 BST.

What do you think? Do you watch Doctor Who? Who do you want to be the new companion?
