Doctor Who fans in the U.S. are getting their first look at the new iteration of the legendary Time Lord in action. Disney+ has released a preview for the Doctor Who Christmas special, The Church on Ruby Road, starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Time Lord and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday.
Davina McCall, Michelle Greenidge, Angela Wynter, and Anita Dobson also star in the special set to arrive on Christmas Day. This new special will be the first Doctor Who content to air solely on the streaming service.
Disney+ shared the following about the plot of the Doctor Who special:
Long ago on Christmas Eve, a baby was abandoned in the snow. Today, Ruby Sunday meets the Doctor, stolen babies, goblins and perhaps the secret of her birth.
The Doctor Who series is produced by Bad Wolf with BBC Studios, for BBC and Disney Branded Television. Executive producers include writer and showrunner Russell T Davies, Jane Tranter, Julie Gardner, Joel Collins, and Phil Collinson.
