Droned is coming to the Science Channel later this month, and there is now more information about this series. Droned will focus in on drones and the way the technology has advanced. Learn more about the drones and the people that use them during each episode.

Science Channel invites viewers see the world through a different lens when DRONED premieres Friday, July 22 at 6PM. The series is shot on location in countries that include Bahamas, Mexico, Barbados, Canada and the U.S., and follows a drone company and its high profile clients while exploring the impact of drones, giving audiences a front seat to a technology revolution.

The series revolves around a Fort Lauderdale-based drone customization business Pigeon Vision which uses the latest innovative technologies for projects that take them to the world’s most amazing destinations. Guests include hit film and TV creator Tyler Perry, Indy 500 winner

Juan Pablo Montoya, visionary magician Criss Angel, Jason “Wee Man” Acuna (JACKASS), multi-platinum recording artist Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees), social media star Brock O’Hurn, former NFL player Ryan Hoag and world class parkour athletes Jesse La Flair, Cory DeMeyers and Marcus Gustafsson.

DRONED is a mixture of evolving technologies and high-octane adventure, the series features search and rescue drones, heavy weather waterproof drones, thermal camera drones for tracking wildlife, drones with image scanning software that can identify sharks and FPV racing drones.

Water World – July 22 at 6PM

The crew is waterborne and teaming up with the Marine Search & Rescue Department at Fort Lauderdale Fire Department’s Station 49, one of the busiest stations in all of Florida, to test a drone that can save multiple victims stranded in deep water. The crew also develops an autonomous long-distance drone that can locate deep sea trophy fish including Tuna, Marlin and Swordfish.

Silicon Beach – July 22 at 6:30PM

The team heads to Los Angeles to film an action-packed chase scene with three of the world’s top parkour/free-running athletes and help a sailboat race crew improve their performance. While in town, Ryan helps social media phenomenon Brock O’Hurn film new content and later they visit a virtual reality game developer.

Vertigo – July 29 at 6PM

It’s a dizzying trip as the crew goes to new heights to use a heavy weather, waterproof drone for the Sea to Sky Gondola in Vancouver. They experience snowboarding at Grouse Mountain, cliff walking on the Capilano Suspension Bridge, exploring the popular Granville Island Public Market and touring a craft beer brewery. Meanwhile, Darren meets up with Jason “Wee Man” Acuna star of the JACKASS films in Long Beach for some skateboarding.

Catch Me If You Can – July 29 at 6:30PM

Dani is gearing up for her first FPV racing competition with the Drone Sports Association, which requires her to build and test a specialized FPV racing drone. The crew teams up with powerhouse Rally Cycling, which has amassed 260 wins since 2007 and incorporates drones into their hi-tech training sessions.

Swimming with Sharks – August 5 at 6PM

The crew is called to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they gain exclusive access to the uninhabited Marieta Islands, capturing the ancient architecture and a whale population up close. Afterwards the team tackles a mission for a client who produces underwater programs to track sharks in the Bahamas which provides the team with the perfect opportunity to use the prototype drone that is programmed to identify sharks with imaging technology.

Miami Heat – August 5 at 6:30PM

Legendary Indianapolis 500 race car driver and avid RC plane enthusiast Juan Pablo Montoya teams up with Pigeon Vision and Horizon Hobbies to test a supercharged RC Jet that rips through the sky at speeds over 150 miles per hour. Meanwhile, some of the crew films a visually eye-catching and humorous viral video for multi-platinum recording artist Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees) featuring hip hop artist J-Dash.

Into the Wild – August 13 at 6PM

The crew ventures into the Florida backcountry using a customized drone that can be launched into the swamps to track feral hogs using a thermal camera.

What Happens in Vegas – August 13 at 6:30PM

Criss Angel gives Pigeon Vision the opportunity to work with him as he launches his heart-stopping new Las Vegas spectacle, MINDFREAK LIVE! Darren takes a tour of Angel’s exclusive magic production facility, uses drones to help create a new TV title sequence, and customizes four drones for HELP! Criss Angel’s pediatric cancer charity. While in Vegas the team lives large, going past the velvet ropes using drone tech to capture it all in a new light.

Festival of Speed – August 19 at 6PM

The team heads to Barbados for the “Festival of Speed,” a two-day motor sports event featuring top Formula 1 racer Lewis Hamilton, as well as action packed races in superbikes, rally cars, monster trucks and stunt bikes.

Always Be Closing – August 19 at 6:30PM

The team heads to Minneapolis to shoot a new commercial for AIRVUZ, a leading site for user generated drone footage. While in town, the team unveils a customized “predator” drone that is capable of shooting paintballs, which is tested on speedy former pro-NFL player Ryan Hoag. Ryan and Bill then meet up with Tyler Perry, delivering a customized ANACONDA VTOL which takes off like a helicopter but flies like a plane.
