The empire maybe be expanding. According to Variety, FOX’s popular drama Empire may have a spin-off series in the future.
Earlier this summer, series co-creator Lee Daniels said, “I think there is going to be a spin-off from Empire without question.”
To further add flame to the fire, Andy Cohen asked Vivica A. Fox on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live whether her recurring Empire character would be getting her own series.
Fox responded, saying a potential spin-off was “in limbo.”
When Variety spoke to Empire’s showrunner, Ilene Chaiken, she responded in a similarly vague fashion, saying, “Right now, we are focused on making the best season two of Empire we can possibly make. In our world, there may well be storylines and characters that we can spin off, but that’s not what we are focused on right now, and nothing official or concrete is happening with regards to it. We really just want to stay focused on what we’re doing.”
Looks like we’ll just have to wait and see.
