Enemy of the State is coming to the small screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC is developing a sequel TV series to the 1998 feature film.
The original spy thriller stars Will Smith as a lawyer who discovers a group of NSA agents conspired to kill a U.S. congressman. The film also stars Gene Hackman, Jon Voight, Regina King, and Lisa Bonet.
The sequel series will reportedly take place 20 years after the events of the film and follow “an idealistic female attorney [who] must partner with a hawkish FBI agent to stop a global conspiracy that threatens to expose dark secrets and personal mysteries connecting all three of their lives.”
Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the original movie, will also produce the TV series.
