Is The Exorcist ending for good? Executive producer Jeremy Slater recently announced season one of the FOX TV series has finished filming.
Based on the 1973 horror film, the drama follows two priests who team together to solve a terrifying case of demonic possession. The cast includes Ben Daniels, Alfonso Herrera, Kurt Egyiawan, Geena Davis, Alan Ruck, Brianne Howey, and Hannah Kasulka.
On his Twitter, Slater posted a farewell to season one of The Exorcist and urged fans to help get the low-rated series a second season:
Final day of filming. This show has been my entire life–16 hours a day, seven days a week–for the last year. Saying goodbye sucks. pic.twitter.com/XjKQ2ytPXJ

So far, FOX has not made an announcement about The Exorcist‘s renewal status. However, the series has not been performing well in the ratings. Seven episodes in and it’s earned an average of .70 in the 18-49 demo and only 2.016 million viewers.
