The Expanse has some new company. Deadline reports David Strathairn has joined season three of the Syfy TV show.
Based on the book series by James S. A. Corey, the sci-fi drama is set centuries in the future and follows police detective Miller (Thomas Jane) and his crew as they unravel a conspiracy that threatens peace and the survival of humanity. The cast also includes Steven Strait, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Dominique Tipper, Cas Anvar, Wes Chatham, Frankie Adams, Chad L. Coleman, and Shawn Doyle.
The details regarding Strathairn’s role on The Expanse have not yet been revealed, but his character is described as “substantial.” Owned by Alcon Television Group, season three of the TV show is expected to premiere on Syfy in 2018.
