Family Guy is still a hit on FOX, but UK fans will not be able to enjoy the animated series on BBC Three anymore. The network has decided to cancel the FOX animated comedy, and it has now been revealed why.
Damian Kavanagh, the man in charge of BBC Three, revealed to Digital Spy the reason for the cancellation of the series. He said:
“I’m a massive fan of Family Guy – it’s a great show and it’s got a hell of a lot of attitude about it. However, when money is in short supply – and on BBC Three we’ve had to think long and hard and rationalize exactly what we’re going to do – I find it quite hard to justify [the money we’re spending on it]. In a way, you can’t give talent very early breaks on BBC One and Two. Look at the talent we’ve given breaks to [on BBC Three. Going forward, I want to support young British talent and I want to invest in that. If I was going to keep Family Guy, it would have swallowed up a lot of our budget.”
