E! is facing some legal troubles. Variety reports a plastic surgeon is suing the network over their upcoming TV series Famously Married.
According to the network, the reality series “explores the lives of young women who recently married or plan to marry wealthy and successful older men.” The Beverly Hills-based surgeon, Michael Obeng, is claiming the network deliberately misled him and his wife, Veronika, in an effort to break up their marriage.
Obeng’s lawsuit states E! “constantly staged Plaintiff in artificial situations and demanded Plaintiff to engage in conflicts that were often fraudulent and deceptive.” Obeng is demanding that he and his family not be included in the series. Since taping, Veronika Obeng has filed for divorce.
Famously Married was set to premiere later this year. E! has not yet released a public statement regarding the lawsuit.
