Fargo: FX Series Debuts April 15th; a Limited Series But…

Fargo TV series on FXAt the TCA winter press tour, John Landgraf, FX‘s President and General Manager, confirmed that Fargo is planned to be a 10 episode limited series. The show starts airing on Tuesday, April 15th, at 10pm.

Landgraf said, “Fargo is a closed ended story with a beginning, middle, and an end. If there were subsequent seasons, they would be sort of like American Horror Story or perhaps True Detective (on HBO) in that they would be entirely different self-contained stories with different casts and different characters. I haven’t even heard a prospective story for a second season of Fargo.”

Fargo stars Billy Bob Thornton and is an adaptation of the Academy Award winning feature film of the same title by Joel and Ethan Coen. Thornton plays “Lorne Malvo,” a rootless, manipulative man who meets a small town insurance salesman and sets him on a path of destruction.

What do you think? Do you plan on watching? Do you like knowing that the season will be a self-contained story?
