Feed the Beast: Cancelled by AMC; No Season Two

Feed the Beast TV show on AMC

Looks like AMC is leaving the kitchen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has cancelled Feed the Beast after only one season.

The drama starred David Schwimmer and Jim Sturgess as two childhood best friends who try to open an upscale restaurant in the Bronx. The cast also included Lorenza Izzo, John Doman, Elijah Jacob, Michael Gladis, and Christine Adams.

Even for a cable series, Feed the Beast performed poorly in the ratings. Season one received an average of only .13 in the 18-49 demo and 447,000 viewers.

From AMC:

We have great respect and admiration for the entire team associated with Feed the Beast, starting with [showrunner] Clyde Phillips, [stars] David Schwimmer, Jim Sturgess and our studio partner, Lionsgate. We are thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with them and appreciative of their talents, dedication and care. Unfortunately, the show simply didn’t achieve the results needed to move forward with a second season.”

What do you think? Do you see Feed the Beast? Are you sad or surprised the show was cancelled?
