Felicity: Keri Russell Warns Past Self About That Haircut

Felicity TV show

There are two famous TV hairstyles from the ’90s: The Rachel and The Felicity. On a recent episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, Keri Russell delivered a message to her younger self regarding that famous Felicity pixie, TVLine reports.

Russell played the college student Felicity Porter on the WB drama from 1998 to 2002.

In the video, host Meyers had various celebrities give advice to their younger selves. Russell told her younger self to not cut her hair during the second season of Felicity, saying “people will freak the hell out.”

Russell’s not exaggerating by much. When the show dipped in ratings during its second season, many blamed the haircut. Felicity would continue for another two seasons, but the short hair debacle would live on as a comedic reference on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 30 Rock, and several other TV shows.

Russell currently stars on FX’s The Americans, where she wears several wigs.

What do you think? Did you watch Felicity? Did you care about the haircut? Do you think it affected the show’s ratings?
