Vin Diesel is developing the First Responders TV show for NBC. Variety reports the Peacock Network has purchased the script.
According to the report, Diesel is executive producing with One Race Television’s Samantha Vincent, ASAP Entertainment’s Jeff Fierson, and Brad Peyton, who will also direct. Shana Waterman is co-executive producing.

Diesel will produce hourlong series by way of his One Race Television shingle, which is under a first look deal with Universal Television, the studio behind “First Responders.” The project is currently in development.
“First Responders” is described as a dynamic, high-action procedural about young veterans struggling to reintegrate into society, while heroically saving civilian lives along the way. The elite team is the best Search and Rescue operation in the country, and is run by husband-and-wife duo, Doc and Lil Pierce, whose Southern California coastal base provides a sense of community and surrogate family for their ex-military staff. While Doc and Lil can save anyone else’s life in the darkest times, they have been unable to find their own son and will stop at nothing to solve the mystery of his disappearance and bring him back home.
Video game vet Jesse Stern, a writer on the “Call of Duty” and “Titanfall” franchises, will pen the project. Aside from his familiarity with the high-action world of video games, Stern has procedural experience as a longtime writer/producer on “NCIS.”

One Race Films was founded by Diesel in 1995. The company has produced the four highest-grossing filming [sic] in the “Fast” franchise, plus “Pitch Black,” “Chronicles of Riddick,” “Riddick” and “xXx.” Up next, the company is behind the hotly-anticipated sequels “Fast 8” and “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” both of which star Diesel, and will hit theaters next year.
