the forgotten: FOX Passes on New Christian Slater TV Show Pilot

For whatever reason, Christian Slater isn’t having much luck in television.

Last season, the movie actor starred in NBC’s My Own Worst Enemy, an action series in which he plays a man with two identities. Though it attracted devout audience, it wasn’t big enough. The show was cancelled after nine episodes.

This season, Slater played the lead in the forgotten. The ABC TV show revolves around a team of civilians who use their unique talents to try to solve difficult missing person cases.

Though the series hasn’t been officially cancelled by ABC, there’s basically no chance that it will be returning next season. Hopefully, the network will get around to airing the remaining two episodes.

Should Christian Slater try another series?

With the fate of the forgotten already essentially sealed, Slater signed on for a new FOX comedy pilot called Breaking In. From Adam Goldberg, the project revolves around a team of young geniuses who crack security systems. Trevor Moore also committed to the project.

This was the first time that Slater had actually signed on to a pilot. Enemy went straight to series and he took over the lead role on forgotten after the pilot had been picked up.

Unfortunately for Slater, FOX has just passed on the project. For the first time in a couple years, Slater won’t have a show on the fall schedule. This also won’t help the forgotten’s chances for a second season.

What do you think? Does Slater belong on television or is he just having some bad luck, like Nathan Fillion prior to Castle?
