Frank TV debuted on November 20, 2008 to an audience of 3.2 million people and over two million of them were in the desirable 18-49 demographic age group — very good numbers, especially for a late-night cable show. By the end of the first five episodes, the TBS comedy show was averaging 2.1 million viewers with 1.4 million in the 18-49 demo. That prompted TBS to order more installments and they began airing in October 2008. The last episode aired on December 23, 2008.
TBS has opted not to renew Frank TV for a second season, due in large part to ad revenue not outweighing the cost to produce the series. Both sides mutually decided to end the show. After putting in long, long days and enduring extensive make-up sessions Caliendo is happy to go back on the road and do stand-up.

He told the St. Joe News, “I have nothing but good things to say about TBS. They made me a pretty famous name — or an infamous name — however you want to look at it.” He continued, I was very proud of the show and the network loved it… But now is the time to sit back and develop some new things.”
Viewers will still be able to find Caliendo and his characters on their television screens. The comic began a recurring role on FOX NFL Sunday in 2001, working with Jimmy Kimmel and frequently appearing as announcer John Madden.
In 2003, Kimmel left the program and Caliendo became his permanent replacement. The network has now made a new two-year deal with the comic to continue to supply taped comedy bits for FOX Sports.
