What’s next for Game of Thrones? Recently, HBO boss Casey Bloys discussed the TV show’s upcoming final season and the recently ordered prequel pilot, Deadline reports.
A hugely popular fantasy series, Game of Thrones is headed towards its eighth and final season. The cast includes Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Maisie Williams, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, and Sophie Turner.
At this summer’s Television Critics Association panel, HBO chief Casey Bloys said the final season of Game of Thrones will debut in early 2019 but he refused to tease any more details:
I’m not going to say what to expect (in the final season) through it’s pretty great”
Additionally, Bloys revealed the Game of Thrones prequel pilot will not begin production this fall. The project still has to find a cast and a director.
From writer Jane Goldman, the series is set thousands of years prior to the events of Game of Thrones and explores “the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Game of Thrones? Would you watch the prequel series?
