Game of Thrones: Four New TV Shows in the Works at HBO

Game of Thrones TV show on HBO: season seven (canceled or renewed?)

Game of Thrones only has two seasons left, but that doesn’t mean the story has to end. Deadline reports HBO is developing four spin-off series with author George R.R. Martin.

The seventh and penultimate season of the wildly popular fantasy drama premieres on July 16th. The ensemble cast includes Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Aidan Gillen, Kit Harington, Diana Rigg, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, and Iain Glen.

Earlier, Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss said there may be a spin-off but they don’t think they’ll be involved. Now, it’s been reported that HBO has hired four new writers to work with Martin on four Game of Thrones-related series. The writers include Max Borenstein, Jane Goldman, Brian Helgeland, and Carly Wray. It’s not clear yet if these will be prequels, sequels, or character spin-off shows.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Game of Thrones? What kind of spin-off series would you like to see?
