Game of Thrones: Season Six Teases from Sophie Turner

Game of Thrones

Will Sansa Stark ever catch a break? In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, actress Sophie Turner teased some developments for her character in the upcoming sixth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones.

On the fantasy epic, Turner plays Sansa Stark, the daughter of Winterfell Lord Ned Stark. At the end of season five, she escaped the confines of her former home after being married off to the cruel Ramsay Bolton.

Speaking to EW, Turner says season six will be a “really, really big one for Sansa.” The actress teased that the new season will feature a satisfying storyline for the character:

It’s probably her best season yet. It’s her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good. … It was amazing because the past five seasons, it feels like it’s been building up and up to that,” she said. You can only suffer so much before she finally gets her, the respect that she deserves.”

Turner then mentioned that the season six in general will be bigger than before, with many shocks and twists in store:

mean this season there’s like so many shocks, it’s massive. It’s the biggest season yet. And just like in terms of character development, so many people’s storylines, I’m so excited for. I’m so excited to see Alfie’s one this season. It’s going to be good.”

Already, there’s been some major surprises from season six. New artwork revealed that Jon Snow, thought to be dead after the season five finale, would be returning alive for the new season.

Season six of Game of Thrones debuts on April 24th on HBO.

What do you think? Do you watch Game of Thrones? Are you a fan of Sansa? What do you hope happens in season six?
