Gilligan’s Island will join MeTV’s lineup of classic programming later this month, and the network has now signed on one of the stars of the classic series to get the word out about the network and their classic programming.
According to Broadcasting and Cable, Dawn Wells will be the face of MeTV’s “The Summer of Me” campaign. The actress will appear in ads and promos, as well as travel the country visiting network affiliates to promote the summer lineup.
Neal Sabin, vice chairman of MeTV parent Weigel Broadcasting Co., said the following about the selection of Dawn Wells:
“Dawn Wells is the perfect ambassador for MeTV’s family-friendly line up. Dawn is wonderful, warm and fun to spend time with…just like MeTV. We welcome her to our family and look forward to sharing new adventures with one of TV’s most loved characters.”
