Is the Girl Meets World TV show cancelled or renewed for season four on Disney Channel? (Disney Channel / Mitch Haaseth.)

Yesterday, we reported Rider Strong said the Girl Meets World TV show would end after season three on Disney Channel. The writers have since clarified that Girl Meets World has not been officially cancelled or renewed for a fourth season. Check out the tweets, after the jump.

A week from today, Girl Meets World, season three, returns to Disney Channel for three more episodes. The hourlong episode, “World Meets Girl,” will air on Friday, January 6, 2017. Disney Channel has slated the season three finale, “Girl Meets Goodbye,” for January 20th. A Boy Meets World sequel series, Girl Meets World stars Rowan Blanchard, Ben Savage, Sabrina Carpenter, Peyton Meyer, August Maturo, Danielle Fishel, and Corey Fogelmanis. Strong guest stars as Shawn Hunter.

Girl Meets World Season Three Finale to Feature Boy Meets World Reunion

As previously reported, the Girl Meets World season three (and possibly series) finale episode on Disney Channel will feature a big Boy Meets World reunion. Be on the lookout for Mr. Feeny (William Daniels), Minkus (Lee Norris), Alan (William Russ), Amy (Betsy Randle), Eric (Will Friedle), Mr. Turner (Anthony Quinn), Shawn (Rider Strong), Harley (Danny McNulty), and both Morgans (Lily Nicksay and Lindsay Ridgeway).

Girl Meets World Is Not Yet Cancelled or Renewed for Season Four

While setting the record straight regarding the sitcom’s fate, whoever was manning the Girl Meets World writers’ official Twitter account couldn’t resist needling Strong’s character, tweeting, “As much as I love Shawn Hunter, having created his character and everything, you have to remember that he was wrong a lot.” (Note: Michael Jacobs and April Kelly created both the Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World TV series.)

The next tweet reads, “There is no official word as yet. Disney decision on season 4 coming soon. Officially, season 3 ends with 3 wonderful episodes in January.”

Finally, they made sure to thank the Girl Meets World fans, adding, “Whatever happens, it has been a great joy to get to continue this story. If it is over, thank you. If not, we will keep giving our best.”

In conclusion, the fate of Girl Meets World is still up in the air. When we know if it is cancelled or renewed for season four, so will you.
