Golden Girls fans are in for a treat. The Huffington Post reports a new play has opened that features the classic sitcom characters as puppets.
The ’80s comedy centered on a group of four older women who share a home in Miami. The cast included Betty White, Bea Arthur, Estelle Getty, and Rue McClanahan. The series lasted for seven seasons before ending in 1992.
Now, the sitcom’s been turned into That Golden Girls Show!, a puppet parody from Jonathan Rockefeller. The play promises audiences “evening of cheesecake, laughter, jazzercise, shoulder pads, sex, and the elegant art of the quick-witted put down.” The show is currently running at Union Square’s DR2 Theatre in New York City.
