There better be cheesecake. Entertainment Weekly reports a new Golden Girls-themed restaurant has opened in New York City.
The classic sitcom starred Betty White, Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty as four older women who share a home in Florida. As of February 13th, all seven seasons of the comedy are available to stream on Hulu.
Co-owned by Rue McClanahan’s son, Mark Bish, and friend Michael J. LaRue, the new Manhattan-based restaurant is named The Rue La Rue Café. Its decoration, complete with tropical plant wallpaper, is inspired by the Florida home shared by the Golden Girls characters. The restaurant also includes memorabilia from the show, including the Emmy Award McClanahan won for the show in 1987.
