Good Christian Bitches: CW Developing Reboot Series Set in High School

Good Christian Bitches could soon be seen on The CW. The network is developing the series for its network. The series is based on the book by Kim Gaitlin, but it will be a new take on the material. The series will be set in a Christian high school.

Deadline revealed the following about the plot of the series:

“At a prestigious private Christian high school in Dallas, a war stoking the student body’s social divides erupts when the new girl on campus, the atheist daughter of a minister, inadvertently tangles with three popular girls who blame her for ruining their lives.”

Darren Star, Aaron Kaplan, and Jordon Nardino are behind the new series. This is not the first time Star and Kaplan have worked with the material. The pair brought GCB to ABC during the 2011-12 season. The dramedy was shortlived on the network and only aired for one season of 10 episodes.

This new chance of life for the series began when Mark Pedowitz expressed interest in the story to Kaplan. This interest reunited Kaplan and Star. Nardino joined the project after another potential series of his, Glamourous, did not get picked up The CW. He was involved in GCB as well.

As for Good Christian Bitches, the series has gone through some changes since CW expressed interest. Another concept for the series was turned down. This redevelopment, set in high school, is the latest try at bringing Gaitlin’s material to the small screen.

What do you think? Are you familiar with the book by Kim Gaitlin? Would you watch a new take on Good Christian Bitches?
