The Great Christmas Light Fight: Season Five Ratings

The Great Christmas Light Fight TV show on ABC: season 5 ratings (canceled or renewed for season 6?)

(ABC)

After stanching bleeding ratings last year, judges Carter Oosterhouse and Taniya Nayak return for the fifth season of The Great Christmas Light Fight TV show on ABC. Since overall television viewership is typically lower in December, and this competitive reality TV series seems to be blessed with just enough seasonal spirit, so far, it has fended off cancellation. How long can that continue? Will The Great Christmas Light Fight be cancelled or renewed for season six? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

An ABC holiday tradition, The Great Christmas Light Fight, follows Oosterhouse and Nayak as they assess the creativity and decorating skills of everyday people (albeit ones with an abundance of holiday cheer). Over the course of six episodes, the duo considers those homes with occupants who take adornment to a whole new level. In the end, the winners are awarded a cash prize and the coveted “Light Fight” trophy.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

12/19 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
