Looking for your favorite stars from cancelled shows? They’re still around. Here’s what some of them are doing these days.
David Schwimmer (remember Ross from Friends?) has been signed to star in a political thriller called Nothing But the Truth. He’ll play the husband of a reporter who outs a CIA agent and then goes to prison for it. Other cast members include Edie Falco (The Sopranos) and Alan Alda (M*A*S*H, The West Wing). The movie’s being written and directed by Rod Lurie who did the same for The Contender and the ABC Geena Davis series Commander in Chief.
Now that he won’t be busy with FOX’s Standoff, Ron Livingston is set to co-star in The Time Traveler’s Wife feature film. He’ll play a liberal non-profit attorney and the best friend of Eric Bana’s character who is able to travel through time. Filming is set for next month with a likely late 2008 release date.
Emily Rose, last seen as a recurring character on John from Cincinnati, will appear in at least eight episodes of ABC’s Brothers & Sisters drama. She’s also been cast in the formerly-cancelled-now-revived series Jericho that will return in early 2008 (or sooner) on CBS. On a sadder note, just a week after HBO’s cancellation of John, series star Austin Nichols was been arrested for DUI in Jackson, MI.
Joan of Arcadia’s Amber Tamblyn will be back on CBS next season. Tamblyn will play a small-town girl who attempts to escape her past by moving to big city Chicago in the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie The Russell Girl. Tamblyn recently starred in the Babylon Fields pilot for CBS. The series wasn’t picked up but the network may possibly change its mind.
Rebecca Mader, who was a regular on FOX’s cancelled Justice, will be heading off to Hawaii to join the cast of Lost for the show’s fourth season.
Over on Ugly Betty, both former Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek and Six Feet Under’s Freddy Rodriguez will be making appearances on the ABC comedy this fall. No word on how long either will be sticking around. Stay tuned!
