Mischa Barton (The O.C.) has been signed to star in an indie thriller entitled Homecoming. The film also stars Matt Long (Jack & Bobby) and Michael Landes (The Wedding Bells). The film follows a former small-town golden boy and his new girlfriend who visit his hometown and discovers his high school sweetheart (Barton) is obsessed with him.
The Streets of San Francisco veteran Michael Douglas has returned to regular television for the first time in 40 years — or at least his voice has. Douglas has become the announcer for the NBC Nightly News, replacing Howard Reig who retired after 25 years on the job. News anchor Brian Williams personally called Douglas to ask him to take on the role.
Look for veteran song and dance man Ben Vereen (Silk Stalkings) in a guest starring role on an upcoming episode of NBC’s Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
Look for Annie Potts (Designing Women, currently Men in Trees) in a new Lifetime movie on Saturday, January 12, 2008. Potts costars with Hairspray’s Nikki Blonsky in Queen Sized about a plus-sized teen who takes a stand against bullying and becomes her school’s homecoming queen.
Watch for West Wing veteran Janel Moloney in the January 29th episode of FOX’s House. She’ll be playing a single mother with a unique relationship with her young daughter.
Hiram Kasten (7th Heaven) has been cast in a guest star role on CBS’ Without a Trace. The stand-up comic and actor was also recently seen on ABC’s Dirty Sexy Money.
The lovely Tasha Smith (Boston Common) has agreed to star in Fred Durst’s Comeback movie with Ice Cube and Jill Marie Jones (Girlfriends). Filming is already underway in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Keep your eyes peeled for Brian Austin Green (Beverly Hills, 90210 and Freddie) in FOX’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles series. The series is set to debut on Sunday, January 13th and is chock full of well-known actors. It stars Lena Headey, Summer Glau (Firefly), Thomas Dekker (7th Heaven, recently Heroes), and Richard T. Jones (Judging Amy).
Actress Frances Fisher (Becker) has been booked for a recurring role on FOX’s new drama The Oaks. The series tells the story of three families who have lived in the same home over the course of 40 years. The families are connected by a spirit who lives in the home. Stay tuned!
