Where Are They Now? Some Green Room Chatter for November 23, 2007

If they’re not out holiday shopping, here’s what some of the stars of your favorite cancelled shows are doing…

Ben Cross (Dark Shadows) has been cast J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Trek film. He’ll be playing Mr. Spock’s Vulcan father Sarek who is married to human Amanda Grayson (Winona Ryder).

Nicole Sullivan (The King of Queens) will be guest starring in an upcoming episode of CBS’ CSI. The episode will center around two murders that happen during the annual bull riding rodeo in Las Vegas.

Paula Marshall (Out of Practice) has joined the cast of Tim Cox’s Miss Nobody. The movie follows a secretary that finds that her talent for murder helps her move up the corporate ladder. The cast also includes Adam Goldberg (Head Cases, Joey), Kathy Baker (Picket Fences, Boston Public), and Missi Pyle (The Wedding Bells).

Rafi Gavron (Rome) is currently shooting Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. The movie follows a young couple as they fall in love while they search for a concert in late night NYC. Michael Cera (Arrested Development) stars.

Look for Ashley Johnson (Growing Pains) in a six episode story arc on FX’s Dirt. Johnson will play a substance-abusing pop star.

Bruce Willis (Moonlighting) has been signed to star in a science-fiction thriller entitled The Surrogates. Jonathan Mostow will direct the Disney picture with production expected to begin in February. This comes on the heals of the news that United Artists has pulled the plug on Oliver Stone’s Pinkville. Willis, Woody Harrelson (Cheers) and Michael Pena (The Shield) had been scheduled to star.

Elizabeth Banks (Scrubs) has been signed to star in Kevin Smith’s Zack & Miri Make a Porno. In the comedy film, she’ll be starring opposite Seth Rogen (Undeclared, Freaks and Geeks). The comedy tells the story of two lifelong friends who decide to film a pornographic movie to solve their money problems. Banks’ role was initially written for Rosario Dawson. Dawson had to bow out because of scheduling issues with her role in Eagle Eye with Shia LaBeouf (Even Stevens) and Michelle Monaghan (Boston Public).

Filming has begun on the ABC Family pilot called Happy Campers. The comedy follows a family on a cross-country road trip. The ensemble cast includes French Stewart (3rd Rock From the Sun), Beth Littleford (One on One), Kay Panabaker (Summerland), and Rebecca McFarland (Working). Also part of the cast is young Ryan Malgarini who played Will Robinson in the 2004 pilot for John Woo’s proposed Lost in Space remake, The Robinsons: Lost in Space.

And don’t miss the mini- reunion tonight on CBS. Christopher Lloyd guest stars on Numb3rs that stars his former Taxi castmate Judd Hirsch. It’s the comic book convention episode that also features Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation). Lloyd starred in 1984’s Star Trek III: The Search for Spock but that was really before Wheaton’s Trek so there’s no mini-reunion there. Oh well, one out of two isn’t bad. Stay tuned!
