With the new TV season in full swing, your actors from cancelled shows should be popping up all over the place. Let’s hope the new series stick around long enough for their episodes to air!
Steven Weber (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) has been added to the cast of ABC’s Brothers & Sisters. He’ll be playing private consultant Graham Finch who is hired to expand the Walker family business. Weber’s character will also become a love interest of one of the series’ ladies.
And speaking of Studio 60, Bradley Whitford has been hired to star in a U.K. four-hour mini-series called Burn Up. He’ll play an unscrupulous oil industry lobbyist in the environmental thriller. Talks are underway with U.S. networks to air it here in the states.
Eddie Cibrian (FOX’s Vanished, ABC’s Invasion) will both be joining the cast of ABC’s Samantha Who? for several episodes. Cibrian will romance the title character played by Christina Applegate. Samantha Who? debuts on October 15th. Cibrian will also be guesting on ABC’s Dirty Sexy Money for a single episode. He’ll play Sebastian Fleet, the third ex-husband of Karen Darling (Natalie Zea).
John from Cincinnati’s star Austin Nichols will be guest-starring on the NBC drama Friday Night Lights. He’ll be playing a Dillon High School teacher in an upcoming multiple episode storyline.
Mercedes McNab, who played the delightfully snotty vampire Harmony on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, has been signed to guest star on CW’s Supernatural. The episode is scheduled to air on November 15th.
TNT has cast Eric McCormack (Will & Grace) and Tom Cavanagh (Love Monkey) in the two lead roles for the pilot of Truth in Advertising. The drama will center around a Chicago ad agency and both actors will play agency execs. Truth aims to create “commercials-within-the-show” that would allow for a new kind of product placement.
Over on ABC’s Big Shots, Ryan Devlin (Veronica Mars) will play Zack Wells, a new intern at Reveal Cosmetics who sparks the interest of Cameron Collinsworth (Peyton List).
Michael Cera (Arrested Development) has been signed to star in Sony’s Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist picture. The film’s story follows a pair of broken-hearted teenagers who fall in love while searching through an NYC night for their favorite band’s unannounced show.
Malcolm in the Middle’s Frankie Muniz has been signed to appear in an upcoming episode of CBS’ Criminal Minds. Muniz will play a comic-book artist who’s involved in the search for an LA serial killer. The episode will air on November 28th.
Commander in Chief’s Ever Carradine is very busy this TV season. As we previously mentioned, she’s got a recurring role on ABC’s Women’s Murder Club. Carradine’s now been cast in the role of an FBI Agent for the upcoming season of FOX’s 24.
Bradley Cooper (Alias, Kitchen Confidential) has been cast in the upcoming Warner Bros. film Yes Man. He’ll play the best friend of Jim Carrey’s character who decides to change his life by saying “yes” to everything. Cooper’s also been cast in an HBO pilot called Intelligence. It’s a workplace comedy show about CIA-type operatives who are disgruntled civil servants. Stay tuned!
