Grimm: EP and Star Tease Season Six of NBC Series

Grimm

Grimm wrapped its sixth season on NBC on Friday night, and the two hour finale closed out one chapter for Nick and his friends, but the series is far from over. Do not continue reading if you have not yet watched the season five finale.

The finale for Grimm was Nick versus Black Claw. In the end, one side won. Who won?

Without Nick beating Black Claw, there isn’t much of a show, but it is the how he defeated Black Claw that ended the season – he had some help from Sean Renard. The Captain killed the leader of Black Claw, and that will take care of that issue for next season.

However, it also sets up the new battle. Next season, it will be Nick versus Sean, according to David Giuntoli. He said the following to TV Line:

“Oh, that group is so done. They’re not gonna come for me again; I killed like 30 people that tried to get me. Now it’s Renard versus Nick. I think.”

David Guintoli revealed he would like to see the series return its focus to the main cast. The finale had a bombshell that will need to be explored next season – the return of Juliette. He tried to heal Eve of her wounds, and it cured her Hexenbiest side in the process. This sets up a love triangle for next season – once Adalind is away from Renard.

As for Adalind, the ring on her hand will still be a factor next season, according to James Kouf, one of the executive producers on the series. He said the following to Entertainment Weekly:

“Everything’s still in play. It’s kind of a new world. There has been so much damage done to both sides, and with what the stick does, it opens up other doors to what the hell is going on in our world.”

As for season six itself, the executive producers have been guaranteed 13 episodes, but that count could increase. David Greenwalt, the other executive producer for the series, said the following:

“We’re assured of 13, which is more than half the season. There may or may not be more episodes. It may or may not be the last season. These are things we don’t yet know. We’re certainly thinking of arcs for next year, and then [the episode order] will determine how long it takes to do that.”
