Ground Floor: TBS Sitcom Cancelled? No Season Three?

Ground Floor TV show canceled? no season three? It looks like Bill Lawrence’s low-rated sitcom may be ending soon. TVLine reports that TBS has cancelled Ground Floor after two seasons on the air. A rep for the cable channel however maintains that the series hasn’t been officially cancelled.

Ground Floor follows the romantic relationship of a young hotshot banker (Skylar Astin) and a beautiful maintenance worker (Briga Heelan). The rest of the sitcom’s cast includes Rory Scovel, Rene Gube, James Earl, Emily Heller, and John C. McGinley.

Airing on Tuesday nights, Ground Floor is currently averaging a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.49 million viewers. That’s about what the first season drew so the sitcom’s performance has been pretty consistent.

On the negative side, the third season of Sullivan & Son did about the same in the ratings and it was cancelled after three seasons.

While it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if the show was cancelled, TBS apparently isn’t ready to officially pull the plug — or renew Ground Floor for a third season. Hopefully for fans of the show, the February 10th season finale won’t end up being the series finale as well.

What do you think? Do you like the Ground Floor sitcom? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
