The cast of Growing Pains is back together. Recently, stars Joanna Kerns, Tracey Gold, and Jeremy Miller reunited on The Dr. Oz Show to remember co-star Alan Thicke.
Thicke passed away in December at the age of 69. He played patriarch Jason Seaver on Growing Pains, which ran on ABC from 1985 to 1992. The family sitcom also starred Kirk Cameron, Ashley Johnson, and Leonardo DiCaprio.

On how she’s coping with the sudden lost of Alan Thicke, Joanna Kerns reveals: “Well, I have to tell you this is very surreal. He was a great guy. We loved him. We were a family. We spent, you know, 10, 12 hours together a day sometimes. Sometimes we were with Alan and each other more than we were with our regular family. But, we miss him. We miss him.”
On the weird moment she had the day that Alan Thicke died, Tracy Gold shares: “And during the day, around noon, I was walking to meet my husband at his work and I started to feel this rush over me. I felt dizzy and that never happens to me. I never get sick, knock on wood, but I’m like, Bobby, I need to sit down, that’s my husband, I’m like, I don’t feel well. I didn’t even think I should get behind the wheel and drive. I sat for a few minutes and it sort of passed, but it was a very surreal experience and it was so weird. It was too obvious to ignore it. You know, when I thought back on it that was the exact time.”
On his last day with Alan, Jeremy Miller tells: “Tracey and I got to spend a wonderful day with him in Chicago. We were just doing an autograph signing and we got to sit there and just talk and tell stories and mess around all day and it was really special ’cause I’m working on a new project and I got to show him and Tracey the one sheet that we had just put together that we were using for our pitch package. And, you know, even with everything going on, Alan being Alan, on the phone, doing autographs, selling his book, doing this, working, taking meetings, he still took me aside, you know, talked to me about the show, gave me a little advice, you know that’s just who he was. He was so generous with his time, with his energy.”
