It looks like Oliver Stone is headed to Showtime. Deadline reports the network has picked up a new TV show from the filmmaker called Guantanamo.
From Daniel Voll, the drama “focuses on the detainees held in the world’s most controversial prison, and those who defend and condemn them.”
Stone will direct the two-hour premiere of Guantanamo. The Showtime series will be the filmmaker’s first project in scripted television. Stone is known for his previous work on films such as Platoon, JFK, and Wall Street.
Showtime has ordered 10 episodes of Guantanamo, which will begin production later this year.
